If you want to visit the Fiordland area as part of your Milford Sound trip, you have several options. One of the most popular options amongst New Zealand residents and visitors alike is to drive. Many choose to drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound, which can take around four hours. Others choose to drive from Te Anau, taking the famous Te Anau highway. This can take around two hours.
