Overlooking the mouth of Whangaruru Harbour, with sheltered waters, walking, swimming and boating activities. It has 90 non-powered/tent sites suitable for all camping setups. Bookings are required. Sorry, no dogs permitted. Facilities include cold showers, toilets, potable water, disabled access and boat ramp.

Puriri Bay, Whangaruru North lies about 30 km south-east of Russell on Northland’s East Coast. Turn off SH1, 22 km north of Whangarei onto Russell Rd. After about 30 km ( just north of Ngaiotonga) turn into Whangaruru North Rd. Access for the last 2km is via a single lane.
